Welcome...
I was born in Miami Beach, Florida, a breathtaking tropical paradise with a vibrant immigrant community from the Caribbean Islands and South and Central America. I loved the diversity. It was a colorful explosion of cultures, expressed in the lively music, creative food and bold art.
I am a student of life. I love exploring our magical world. I have explored Africa, Asia, Europe and South America. When most people visit a new place, they visit the the "normal stuff" museums, restaurants, and shopping. I like to do the “normal stuff” as well as the off the beaten path, adventure stuff like backcountry heli-skiing, motorcycling, ice climbing, trekking on glaciers, horseback riding, hiking through remote places, whitewater river rafting and surfing.
I’m fascinated with history because it shows us where we came from and we as a humanity, have evolved: our societies, politics, governments, corporations, technologies, architecture, art, music, object ‘d arts, religions, ecologies, and geographies.
I love esthetically beautiful things.
I love taking photos and capturing a perfect moment in time; the perfect look; the perfect coloring; the perfect lighting; the perfect location.
In 2012, I travelled to Africa by myself, a childhood dream come true and a life-changing experience. As I backpacked through 8-countries and 23-national parks, people had smiles of their faces. I experienced their kindness, generosity and inclusiveness from strangers. Even though according to western standards they were poor, many with no electricity, no indoor plumbing and holes in their secondhand bought clothing, there seemed to be a happiness to them, a joy in the simple things in life. A connectedness to each other and nature.
It made me question what is the meaning of my life? And where does happiness come from?
Spending time in the origins of human evolution, it brought perspective to all the other places that I had traveled before because this was the place where it all began.
Even though we have come far as a humanity, I find that being in nature touches my heart, my soul and there is nothing more beautiful than that which Mother Nature has created. The more I see, the more I learn, the more I am in awe of its perfectness.
At the core of it all, we are all connected to each other and we are all sacred living things.
I am honored to share my adventures with you and hope you enjoy my stories and photography. Or perhaps to inspire you to follow your heart, travel and explore this magnificent world.
Love,
Staci
